Are criminal cases wholesaled?

Listening to every situation imaginable and having a front row seat of the criminal judicial system has my answer to be yes. Yes, some criminal cases are wholesaled. Realistically our world is built upon an expectation of receiving compensation for our hard work.

If we are honest we would not work without knowing we will be properly compensated. However when you or a loved one is faced possibly with a ten year sentence, how does one justify quality of compensation to someones quality of life.
