Thanks for clarifying. Attorneys like doctors for a long time have addressed their clients as if it is a privilege to be in their presence. Clients have felt powerless. I understand believing your are worthy of xamount of money for your services, however when a professional makes a decision to lower fees the quality of services should not be lowered. It is unethical when you know a persons life is in jeopardy. Guilty or innocent our judicial system promises to provide a just system. The break down at the attorney stage is serious.

Lisa:

Thanks for the introduction to becoming a rainmaker. Most people who fail at rainmaking do so by giving up too soon. The underlyling logic of the effort is simple, You must go out and meet the right people. Then you must stay in front of them by beiing helpful to them and, in appropriate, low-key ways, remind them of what kind of work you do and work eventually will come in. Easily said, but the first six months are hell. How do you meet people? How do you stay in front of them? The more you do it, the easier it gets, both because you develop skills and because as your network grows, one good contact leads to others. It can take two years before you start to see a predictable flow of business and three before you begin feel in control of you destiny. Then it gets fun . . .and financially rewarding.

Becoming a rainmaker is a big dream, but one that many people can realize, if only they persist. As you say, it's a matter of how badly you wants it.
